Which types of Colleges Should I be Looking At?
I’m an african-american first person to go to college in my family, and i am a junior.
Gpa 3.4 unweighted
Gpa 4.1 weighted
I’ve taken a total of 10 honors and 3 ap’s so far and my senior year i plan on taking 4-5 more ap classes.
Class President- 2 years so far
Rites of passage- went to west africa to study the slave route and slave trade in west africa
Mylc- sponsored by the mayor of our city its club against teen dating violence.
Building With books- recreational community service
Lead- Enrichment program, tutor kids here
Horizons- emrichment program
Junior achievement- business ran by high school students our company was sponsored by price water house
volunteer coach a 8-9 year old baskeball team a real one where parenst pay money to be in the league
Varsity basketball
Outward bound alumni went to colorado and did white water rafting for 9 days pretty exciting experience
I guess it really depends on what you want to study and where you would like to be. What part of the country interests you? Do you want to attend a predominately black university, or does that not matter? How much money do you have available to you for school?
Start looking into scholarship applications, and talk to your high school councilors for advice. It is best to start the ball rolling now.
