Whoops, I didn’t say that because I feel bad already. Still, rumor has it. I’ve been hearing lately about the declining quality of our men from a growing number of women. A number so significant that it seems to me at least a trend, if not an epidemic.

Bad stereotypes have a bad psychological effect on mixed children, especially part filipinos?

From experience and acquaintance of others who are part caucasian and filipino, I have realised that I am not the only only one tormented by the stereotypes that filipinos put themselves into, i.e. housemaids, mail order brides, young girls with dirty old men, inability to communicate effectively or integrate in society. I never expose myself as being part of this race (luckily I have taken the caucasian side and no one ever questions me about my heritage) due to the degrading stereotypes that I do not want to even associate with, although i love my parents dearly. When will these people stop doign these degrading things? This is the general opinion in the UK and I have heard that it is different in the USA?

In the USA – we would stereotype you into becoming a nurse. We have many Filipino female nurses here.

I think the best thing you can do to end negative stereotypes is to disprove them.

But, since you have the opportunity to not disclose your heritage, you can use it to your advantage, for now. That will help you overcome discrimination. Then, when you are at the top – let everyone know who you are – that will help to get rid of these stereotypes.
