SGt’s answer makes the most acurate points. I would point out that many of the Russian civilians killed were part of the overall Nazi effort to steamroll through the land and population. Gang raping women was not a Nazi practice by the German army nor the Waffen SS. Russians were just as easily killed by their own Govt then the Nazis. As for rapes, the likelyhood of that by the Russians themselves on their own people is much greater than by a German occupier.

The Soviet had a systematic policy to liquidate the German population from the Baltics and East Prussia. East Prussia suffered over 2 million rapes in a period of 6 months. Berlin had over 60,000 in a period of 3 days. Most of these would be gang rapes by Russian soldiers drunk off Vodka, the only provision given to them, and would have no limits to its brutality.

The Nazis had ideological zeal when going through Russia and their actions were tailored around it, rape was not part of that. The Soviets on the other hand were a motley group of barbarians given the green light to pillage and rape not seen in Europe since Medieval times.

The History

Sekonda used to import Soviet watches for sale in the Western markets. They are associated with the original production of both digital and quartz watches.
